The Inaugural Free To Advance Video Bootcamp for Africa

Developing and Sharing Citizen Journalism-Like Video Content That Promote Messages of FREEDOM in Sub-Saharan Africa

Working with a vibrant young team who want to be agents of Freedom through video storytelling, FNF aims to establish a connection of young liberal video content producers in sub-Saharan Africa. The Foundation therefore hosted the #FreeToAdvance Video Bootcamp in Johannesburg with participants from Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The candidates from across sub-Saharan Africa, who were selected for the video bootcamp attended a training workshop for the week to help boost their mobile journalism skills. After the workshop, the trainees were given an opportunity to produce a video (using only a smartphone) on a "missing freedom" in their home country basedon what they learnt at the bootcamp.
